Research Interests

We are interested in understanding how embryonic cells are instructed to adopt distinct developmental fates, ultimately specifying a complex, three-dimensional organism. Our research program utilizes the strengths of Drosophila as a model organism to study:

  • the mechanisms and functions of intracellular mRNA localization;

  • control of maternal RNA stability in the early embryo; and

  • the genetic control of morphogenesis and tissue integrity.
